[Portable SDXL prompt for smooth 3D caricature portrait of blonde woman in sportswear on solid red background. Concrete words for materials, light and proportions. Real limitations and fixes when SDXL falls back to photorealism]

3D caricature portrait of a smiling young blonde woman with exaggerated head proportions, Pixar style character, smooth plastic-like skin with soft specular highlights, heather grey sports bra with small dark logo, black leggings with pink side stripes, grey terry towel with ribbed trim draped around neck, solid matte red studio backdrop, soft even studio lighting, centered medium shot cropped at mid-thigh, clean 3D render, highly detailed
That grey towel with the terry loops showing round their neck is doing a lot of work here. The head shape (bigger eyes, small nose, big smile) and smooth plastic-y slightly glossy skin tone vs matte flat red background without gradient or vignette effect. SDXL will be fighting it because its default behavior is to render photorealistic skin and photographic DOF unless you explicitly ask for stylization stuff.
Why wording has to push away from photorealism
Calling this a "cinematic portrait" alone will pull SDXL toward real skin pores, film grain, and bokeh. To hold the caricature, name the style and the proportion directly. 3D caricature, Pixar style character, exaggerated head proportions tells the model to keep the head-to-body ratio and the simplified facial geometry. smooth plastic-like skin replaces pore detail with the soft highlight you see on the forehead, nose bridge, and shoulders. If your result turns waxy or too doll-like, reduce that phrase to smooth skin or move it later in the prompt. If it snaps back to a real person, put stylized 3D render near the front and add a negative like photorealistic, real skin texture.
Materials and light to describe literally
Don't think in terms of light calculations. Think about what the camera would see. It's a simulation, not an actual photo so highlights and textures are artistic approximations.
- Towel: grey terry cloth with small loop texture and light grey ribbed trim at the ends. Without
terry towelSDXL often gives a flat grey scarf. - Skin: even peach tone, soft specular on the collarbones and upper arms, no pores, subtle subsurface softness on the cheeks. Avoid
ultra detailed skin— it reintroduces pores. - Sports bra: heather grey knit with black binding and a small dark swoosh logo centered on the chest. Logos warp easily; if the mark smears, try
small logoor remove the brand reference entirely. - Leggings: black with a satin-like sheen and a thin vertical pink stripe down the outer thigh. Name the stripe position or SDXL will scatter pink patches.
- Backdrop and light: solid matte red, seamless, soft even studio lighting with almost no cast shadow. Add
even lighting, minimal shadowto prevent dramatic cinematic contrast that breaks the flat studio feel.
Framing and parameters to try
centered mid shot, eye level. mid thigh cut. mostly vertical (most of the frame is taken by the person) for sdxl it's better to use a portrait ratio vertically like 832x1216 or 1024x1280 so that you don't lose head size and towel readability. at 1024x1024 legs will get more cut off, hands will be cluttered on the edge. i don't know exact model version/sampler/cfg used for this one so take prompt above as untested approximation which can not guarantee identical reconstruction. if you get color blowout (that flat red is easily oversaturated) start with lower cfg like 5-7 and only raise it up in case towel texture gets too blurry
Where this breaks and what to adjust
Expect the detail to soften at this framing, especially on hands and hair. SDXL often fuses fingers or shortens the pinky when hands are near the frame edge; cropping slightly higher or adding hands at sides, relaxed can reduce distortion but will not fix it every time. Blonde hair rendered as solid sculpted volumes will lose individual strands — asking for fine hair strands usually adds noise instead of realism. The heather knit and terry loops also tend to blur when you upscale; if the towel turns to smooth felt, move terry texture earlier in the prompt and keep highly detailed at the end rather than the front. These suggestions are untested across different SDXL checkpoints, so test one change at a time and keep the backdrop phrase last to hold that clean red.
If the leggings lose the pink stripe or the stripe doubles, shorten the color description to black leggings with single pink side stripe and place it immediately after the garment name. If the smile stretches too wide, replace wide smile with gentle smile, teeth visible.
